Opening Music of Praise:   “Glorify Thy Name”

Prayers of Confession and Prayers of the People:

     –Lift up to God prayers for siblings who are estranged from one another.

     -Lift up prayers for children estranged from their parents.   

     -Lift up to God prayers for spouses estranged from one another.

     -Lift up to God prayers for those who suffer loss relationships due to their faith in Christ.

     -Lift all these prayers up to God.

Assurance of Pardon:

      Here the good news.  We will hear in the scriptures today that because of Christ brothers and sisters and husbands and wives and parents and children will be broken from one another.  We may not hear the good news in this.  But we can face our brokenness with the hope and reassurance that God has a bigger plan and is bringing about resolution in ways that we cannot always see or understand.  We can affirm that through Christ we are restored and forgiven. AMEN.
