Blessing of the Animals
Sunday, October 22 – 10 am in the Gym @ Allison Creek Church
Bring your pets to a special service that honors the sacredness of animals and the joy they give. Each pet will receive a blessing and have their name and information recorded in the sacred Book of Blessings. The service will be held in the church gym at 10 a.m. Animal treats, water bowls and bags will be provided. All are invited to enjoy this annual blessing service and the happy cacophony of animal growls, barks and meows.
Open House of Common Ground
Sunday, October 22 – 12 -3
The church is holding open house for its Common Ground to introduce the public to the natural respite of the wooded trails and meditation stations located on church property.
Members of the community are invited to walk with or without their pets on the nearly two miles of trails that include benches, spiritual art and a loop around historic Clay Hill, where there are the gravesites of more than 300 enslaved and freed Blacks.
Across the street, visitors can also follow an exercise track or drop by the peaceful chapel.
Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions, offer water, provide guided tours and distribute brochures about Common Ground.
The formal open house ends at 3 pm, but Common Ground is always open to all.
Pictorial directory is being updated!
The photo dates will be Saturday and Sunday, October 21 and 22.
You may go to this link: https://booknow-lifetouch.appointment-plus.com/y6mkz27s/ to schedule your spot online while most times are still available. A church volunteer will also be available after worship each upcoming Sunday to schedule sign ups.
The directory and one 8X10 photo will be free for each family who participates.
In addition, families who wish to purchase pictures and/or photo greeting cards will have that opportunity to do so on the day your family photo is taken.
Photos ordered on picture day will be delivered in time for Christmas gift-giving. For more info contact Renee Cheezem (704-619-1336 or email@example.com).
