Prayers of Confession and Prayers of the People:

     –Lift up to God prayers of thanksgiving.

     -Lift up to God prayers for those who struggle.   

     -Lift up to God prayers for those who have an inheritance that they are seeking to share.

     -Lift up to God prayers for those whose families are broken from inheritance issues.

     -Lift all these prayers up to God.

Assurance of Pardon:

      Here the good news.  We hear a story today where Jesus recognizes that our possessions can cause great conflict within families and communities.  Many people have worked hard to build up estates that end up leading to conflict and strife.  Help to guide us, O Lord, to use our possessions in ways that bring us closer to you and to one another.  And when we fall short remind us that are forgiven by Christ with opportunities to correct our past wrongs.  AMEN.
