     -Lift all these prayers up to God.

Assurance of Pardon:

      Here the good news.  We as a country are once again saddened by tragedies and mass shootings.  Forgive us for the ways we ignore the pleas of those who are wounded and widowed while we listen to the pleas of the powerful.  Help us as a nation and as a church to work for a more just world that cares for the widows and orphans rather than creates them.  As we seek to do justice we can hear and experience the Holy Spirit in our midst.  Through Jesus Christ we are empowered.  AMEN.
