Prayers of Confession and Prayers of the People:

     –Lift up to God prayers for those who feel broken today.

     -Lift up to God prayers for those who have lied today.   

     -Lift up to God prayers for those who have broken promises and covenants today.

     -Lift up to God prayers for those who have ignored injustice around them today.

     -Lift all these prayers up to God.

Assurance of Pardon:

      Here the good news.  All of us have felt broken at one time or another.  All of us have lied at some point in our lives.  All of us have broken promises that we have made to others.  All of us have ignored injustice when we have been called to take action.  During this season of Lent we are invited to be honest about the times and ways that we fall short.  But even though we are sinful God shows us love through Christ.  Through Jesus Christ we are forgiven.  AMEN.
