Purim and St. Patrick’s Day

Prayers of Confession and Prayers of the People:

–Lift up to God prayers for those who are called to be bold in the face of injustice.

-Lift up to God prayers for those who are harmed by the prejudice of others.

-Lift up to God prayers for those who are seeking to share the gospel in foreign lands.

-Lift up to God prayers for those in foreign lands and local lands to be open to the gospel.

-Lift all these prayers up to God.

Assurance of Pardon:

Here the good news.  Esther is the story of a woman who was called to be bold even though her privilege made that difficult. We are called to place our faith in God and God’s callings to be bold and not to fall into a false sense of security by the objects around us.  St. Patrick faced oppression in his life, but he used it as an opportunity to discover his Christian faith.  May Esther and Patrick be examples for us today.  Through Jesus Christ we are forgiven.  AMEN.
