PRAYER THEME FOR SEPTEMBER: Prayers for Health During Covid-19
You are invited as a church family to offer up these prayers this month. To give us a spirit of unity, we ask you to say these prayers–or just one of them in the morning after you rise and in the evening before bed.
· God, we lift up prayers for the health of our neighbors, for our church family and for members of our community and for our country.
· We pray for those who are hospitalized for Covid-19.
· We pray for front line workers and for everyone who has to go out to work in service to the public.
Possible actions for September:
Make or buy a mask or masks to gift to someone and say “Thank you”—maybe to a teacher, a homeless person, someone working at a fast food window, the mail carrier.
Thank 10 people for their service. Say “Thank you” verbally or draw a picture, hand out cards or “thank you” notes. Give one to the person wiping down carts at the grocery store, a cashier, to a delivery person, to a police officer. To anybody you think needs and deserves a “Thank you” for risking their health to provide you with a service.
Say a silent prayer for a service person as you pass him or her.
To help us feel a sense of community while we are physically separated, the congregation of AC will have monthly prayer themes, beginning in September. Each person or family will receive the same prayer and suggestions for ways to serve that are related to the month’s prayer theme.
During the act of prayer we open our hearts to the spirit of the Lord and we are united as one.
If you have suggestions for prayer themes, please email Patrice Gaine at [email protected] or call her 803-487-0617.
