Our first project to the Lower Richland community outside of Columbia to assist after flooding was to build a handicap ramp for Mrs. Charlotte West.
Mrs. West is disabled and was unable to enter and leave her mobile home safely due to her ramp being washed away.
She told me that she had already injured herself once trying to leave her home.
Mrs. West had been trying to get help from her insurance and FEMA but had been denied assistance to date. Therefore we stepped in to respond to this need.
Ed Veasey coordinated this ACPC mission trip, if you would like to be a part of the response team for further projects please contact Ed Veasey at 704-813-5644 or [email protected].
This area was hit hard by flooding causing damage to many homes, roads and bridges. Lower Richland High School is serving as a shelter and distribution center for the community. I am a graduate of Lower Richland High and know the area well.
Our work in Lower Richland will be long term and will require many trips and resources.
Please pass this along to others outside of the church as we see our work in Lower Richland as an opportunity to do ministry and invite others into ministry with us.
We will begin to collect the items of buckets, cleaner, mops, garbage bags, and gloves. You can contact Ed to deliver these items.
You can support our work in Lower Richland by designating checks to “ACPC” and mark it “Mission Fund.” These monies will be used in supporting our relief work in the area.
In the mean time, please keep the people of Lower Richland and elsewhere in our state in your thoughts and prayers.
