Intern in Christian Education
In addition, we welcome Letarshia Robinson who has been called by the Session to be an intern in Christian Education.
Letarshia is a student in Christian Education at Union Presbyterian Seminary in Charlotte.
Letarshia officially begins in January but she is volunteering her time now to coordinate the creation of “The Loft.”
Faith Formation and Fellowship Meals
Faith Formation this fall will include new classes for youth and children.
We will also be incorporating monthly fellowship meals on the 3rd Sundays and games and service opportunities.
The upcoming schedule will be as follows:
- Aug. 20th- 3rd Sunday Fellowship Meal
- Aug. 27th- Pool party at Bethelwoods from 2-4pm
- Sept. 3rd – Board games for all ages in the Fellowship Hall
- Sept. 10th- Classes for children and youth
- Sept. 17th- 3rd Sunday Fellowship Meal
- Sept. 24th- Classes for children and youth
- Oct. 1st- Kickball game on ballfield
Sophia Talks, a women’s fellowship group that offers a loving, non-judgmental space for women to share their wisdom and enjoy a spiritual sisterhood, returns to regular meetings Wednesday, Sept 6th, at 6 pm in the fellowship hall.
The group is studying “Conversations on the Porch” by Beth Templeton.
Meetings are every other Wednesday (Sept 20, Oct 4, 18…).

“The Loft” is being created in the upstairs area. This area will be a place for youth and others to reflect and engage the Biblical stories and world events.
A donation basket is located at the sanctuary entrance. They are accepting cash and gift cards to Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Wal-Mart and Target.
Survey of Bible Stories
Survey of Bible stories that are essential for children to learn is being distributed.
Lindsay Capistran is writing children’s curriculum and will be guided by what you include. See Lindsay for a survey or pick up one at the sanctuary entrance.
All 4th, 5th and 6th graders who have not received a Bible from the congregation will be presented one on Sunday, August 27th. See Sam for more info.
Bigger Room Class
Bigger Room Class for adults is studying “God’s Urgent Call” from the books of Judges, Exodus, Isaiah, and Acts.
Any interested adults are invited to join them at 11:15 am.
Reflection Pool meets in the parlor weekly to share ideas about the morning service and practical ways to apply the message to our daily lives.
All ages are welcome to this intergenerational small group.
Nursery for children birth to 2 is available.
